Plants being sessile are subjected to wide variety of environmental stresses. This include drought, salinity, heavy metals, metaloids, soil acidity, flooding, etc. Plant respond to stresses in multiferious ways. The principal objective of our research is to understand the biochemical, molecular and metabolomic basis of plant stress responses and tolerance in cereals and legumes. The main focus of our research include:
-
Biochemical basis of redox metabolism in plants under abiotic stresses.
-
Role of polyamines in stress tolerance.
-
Role of salicylic acid against heavy metal stress.
-
Metabolic signatures in plants for abiotic stress tolerance
-
Role of nutrient management regimes for abiotic stress toleracne in plants
-
Biochar of acid soil and arsenic mitigation in rice and tea agro-ecosystems
